The ethos behind Invention Piece 1 is to pay homage to the timepiece that launched Greubel Forsey: the Double Tourbillion 30°. While based on the movement of the DT30°, the displays, surfaces, architecture and aesthetics of Invention Piece 1, have all been profoundly modified and re-developed to create this exceptional timepiece.
Reminiscent of orbiting astronomical indicators, the indications of Invention Piece 1 reinforce the link between the mechanism and the indication. Two triangular indicators - red hours, blue minutes - show the passing time, while a sub-second dial top left with a power reserve indicator to its right complete the dial. The majestic ballet of the exquisitely finished double tourbillon carriages can be appreciated beneath the impressively-sized mirror-polished bridge.
An unexpected and exquisite detail is engraved on the case-back: the story of Greubel Forsey told in miniature bas-relief provides the owner with a very personal message.
Invention Piece 1 is available in a very exclusive limited edition comprising of three versions of 11 watches each. The number 11 (1+1) was chosen to symbolically represent the Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey partnership.
