Stephen Forsey grew up in St. Albans/ England. His father's passion for mechanics and engineering inspired Stephen's love of horology. From  1987 to1992, Stephen specialized in antique clock restoration and after sales service. His exceptional talent was rewarded with promotion to head of the prestigious Watch Restoration department at Asprey’s in London.

From 1988 to 1990 Stephen augmented his complicated watchmaking knowledge at the WOSTEP school in Neuchâtel from. In 1992 he moved to Switzerland to join Robert Greubel's team at Renaud & Papi SA. There he worked on diverse and extremely complicated watch movements.

Stephen left R&P in 1999 to work independently and in 2001 formed Complitime SA with Robert Greubel. Complitime is a company dedicated to developing complicated movements for prestigious brands.

In 2004, after years of development, Stephen Forsey  and Robert Greubel launched their own brand, 'Greubel Forsey', with the presentation of their 1st Fundamental Invention, the acclaimed Double Tourbillion 30°.
