In order to respond to the specific requirements of the tourbillon in a wristwatch, Greubel Forsey developed an innovative double tourbillon mechanism, with one tourbillon rotating in 60 seconds and inclined at 30° rotating inside another rotating every four minutes. Rotating a tourbillon inside another tourbillon in this manner averages out errors induced by the force of gravity on the balance.

When introduced, the architectural design of the Double Tourbillon 30° Vision focused on the visibility of the elegantly complex invention. For connoisseurs of sophisticated haute horlogerie with a preference for discretion, the Double Tourbillon 30° Secret is offered with a closed dial; a dial nevertheless hinting at the splendid treasure beneath.
